The one who had Ocean as his father, Sun and moon like his brothers, sisters as Rambha and Rama and brother in law as Vishnu and Krishna. However the lotus, despite of having such a powerful family gets hurt by fog. Hence Tulsidas is saying after much thought that everyone is with you only in good times, and one need to face the bad times on his own.
These old lines written thousands of year back are so true. I can feel the truth in them even today. I use of boast of ny connections and friends. And why wouln't someone, who is so much known in industry that one call of his made all the difference. I had been a kind of employee whom companies wanted to retain. Always rated as top 5% performer and got awarded and rewarded from time to time.
But bad times never inform, and exact 23 days back, same happend. I got laid off, for no mistake of mine. Just because of company decided that there strategies were not right hence they need to roll back, so I was left in lurch.
And now in last 23 days, it's been quite a time. I have probably spoken to more than 200 people. Wrote mails to known and unknown, contacted various head hunters, the CEO's and top heads. But to my surprise, nothing has happened. It seems as if the world has come on a stand still mode. Everyone does say that given a chance they would love to have someone like me as a part of their organisation. But I am not sure what do they mean by saying "given a chance".
I am not too sure what does the person means when, after getting to know that I am not on a job anymore, shows that flat face and then tell me that keep the hope, and patience. I am for sure dumb, as I am not able to decipher anything these days. There was a time when I use to have atleast 2 job offers, but now, I am good for all of searched and nothing more.
And after going through all this, now I can relate to how the lotus use to feel when he would be getting hurt by the fog, despite of having all the power on his side.... truely said... success has many fathers.. failure is an orphan or better.. "BASTARD"
